Date – September 11th to 15th 2023 – Location – Holiday Inn – Saint John, NB

Course cost – $2,495.00

Flowstar Industrial Inc. is pleased to offer a vibration Category II course; all course material will be in accordance with ISO 18436-2 standards. Students will write their exam on Friday afternoon September 15th 2023. Due to the rising costs to offer our vibration courses, we have determined that a minimum number of students must be enrolled in the courses to make them feasible. In our Cat 2 level course we will need a minimum of 10 students, so please consider registering early. Flowstar Industrial will also make all hotel reservations if requested, please contact our office @ 902-896-0051 or email phil@flowstarind.ca . Deadline for registration is August 8th,2023, after this we are not sure if we can get exam’s and book’s.

Category II – Course

Instructor – Paul DuJohn, Cat II certified

Paul DuJohn has delivered training in Level 1 CMVA for the last several years, drawing on over 40 years of mechanical maintenance experience as a machinist, millwright and in machine design. He holds a Teaching Certificate in Technical Education from the University of New Brunswick, and a Level II CMVA certification. On his last six Level 1 courses, Paul has had over 90% pass his course. He was employed as a Vibration Analyst at Irving Paper Limited in Saint John, N.B. for 24 years. He now is an instructor in the industrial mechanic program. Vibration, balancing, hydraulics are examples of some the courses he teaches. He also work’s in the apprenticeship program.

 

Category II course outline

This course prepares attendees to perform basic machinery vibration analysis on industrial machinery using single-channel measurements, with or without triggers signals, according to established and recognized procedures, It covers basics of sensors, database and data collector setup, data collection, signal processing, fault analysis, and basics of single plane balancing. It is partial preparation for the Vibration Analyst Category II Certification Exam. The workshops and demonstrations, scheduled throughout the training course, are used to illustrate theory and applications.
