Congratulations to Dr. Babak Soltannia, laureate of the Student Award at CMVA’s 37th Technical Conference. Dr. Soltannia, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, received a $ 375 bursary and a one-year CMVA membership for the presentation of his article entitled “Vibration Characteristics of Thermally Cycled Graphene Nanoplatelet (GNP) Reinforced 3D-Fiber Metal Laminates (3D-FML)”.

More good news: As a result of his experience at the technical conference, Dr. Soltannia stood as a candidate for a position of Director on the CMVA National Board of Directors and was elected. During his tenure, he intends to bring the academic community, students and teachers, closer to the industry and thus build bridges between these two technological centers for the future.
