A study was conducted on a low pressure (LP) steam turbine last stage (L-0) blades to determine if the free-standing blades were susceptible to any resonance conditions. The study was based on in-situ Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) of the blades, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Rotor Dynamic Analysis (RDA) of the turbine-generator (T-G) train. This paper presents the results of such study.
