Nelson Baxter, Keynote speaker

Nelson L. Baxter P.E. is a Registered Professional Engineer. He holds a B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and a M.S. Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University. He is a Category IV Certified Vibration specialist by Vibration Institute, and accredited by ANSI as instructor for AVA class for Vibration Institute. Mr. Baxter is the author of numerous technical papers on the subject of vibration analysis and equipment troubleshooting. He was also a member of the Vibration Institute Board of Directors for over 20 years.


Anoosh Afshar

Anoosh has more than two decades of experience in design and managing technology initiatives, including complex software, hardware and mechanical engineering systems. He has been lead architect in several successful software and IIoT platforms and projects like www.tele-sensor.com and www.Predicta4.com and multiple Banks, Government and Telecom products. He has founded several start-ups and has long experience in successfully communicating with different stakeholders including clients and technical teams, planning and managing technical projects, and hiring the right resources for delivering high-tech products.


Louis Beauvais

Louis Beauvais graduated from CEGEP de Sorel-Tracy in the Instrumentation and Control program. He began his career in 1994 as an Instrumentation and Control Technician for Sorel Forges. Over the course of his career, he has worked in different sectors of the industry and different roles, whether as a Factory Technician, Service Technician or Department Manager. He was responsible for the modernization of the automation system of a chemical plant in Montreal and was also responsible for the project to increase production and improve maintenance from 2008 to 2013 of the same factory. In 2014, he joined Laurentide Controls as head of the automation group. He has been part of the Laurentide Controls Industrial Reliability Solutions group since 2018 as a technical sales specialist.


Mattieu Berlinguette

Mattieu has more than 15 years of maintenance and reliability expertise with Laurentide Controls as a senior consultant and director of sales. He published multiple articles and has presented at Maintenance and Reliability conferences across North America. He works in the fields of pulp and paper, mining and metals and in the energy sector. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Quebec and is also a professional technologist in mechanical engineering. Mattieu specializes in integrating predictive technologies to help his customers optimize their maintenance practices, maximize asset availability and optimize production processes.


Florian Buder

Florian is holding a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Munich, Germany and an MBA from John Molson School of Business (Concordia University), Montreal. He has been working in the industrial maintenance and reliability sector for 16 years. Following his work terms in Germany and Australia, he worked for Prüftechnik from 2005 to 2020 in multiple roles. In 2020 he founded Alkitronic Inc., based in Laval, Canada as the exclusive partner of alki Technik GmbH, Germany. He has a competitive sports background, especially in soccer, tennis, and skiing. He enjoys many other sports such as hiking, bike riding, and playing golf. Still, his favourite thing is spending time with his wife and daughter, family and friends.


Hossein V. Farahani

Hossein is a Reliability Engineer and Category IV vibration analyst with more than 17 years experience in the field of fault diagnosis, integrated condition monitoring and reliability practices. His experience includes working in different roles such as program manager, vibration analyst, instructor and consultant. Based on extensive involvement in different aspects of industrial equipment reliability and maintenance issues, he has a solid technical background in this area.


Matt Firth

Matt is a Red Seal Journeyman Millwright who entered into the Millwright trade in 1999. His journey has led him into many heavy industries throughout North America and Europe including but not limited to Automotive Manufacturing, Steel Mills, Pulp and Paper and currently Nuclear. He holds Category 3 Vibration certification as well as certification in Lubrication, Thermography, and Air/Structure Borne Ultrasound. Matt is currently the President of the Atlantic Chapter of the CMVA.


Charles Gagné

Employed with STCD since 2014, and previously with Alliance Predictive for 12 years, Charles is a vibration analysis specialist Level III certified through CMVA, Vibration Institute and Mobius Institute. Developed expertise in the operation of both hardware and software of the OneProd product line, with extensive knowledge of other brands, he also operates as a consultant in setup and commissioning of on line monitoring systems.


Alexandre Gauthier

Alexandre has been working in the oil and gas industry for the last 15 years. Along his journey, he gets specialized and developed a strong expertise in rotating equipment condition monitoring, vibration analysis, troubleshooting and repair of all kind of assets. He is now working at Suncor Energy in a central condition monitoring group as an Asset Performance Monitoring Specialist. He graduated from Sherbrooke University in 2005 with a mechanical engineering degree. He is a CMVA member since 2009 and hold a Category 3 certification from CMVA. He is also got recently his Vibration Analysis Category 4 certification from Mobius Institute.


Ryan Goddard

Ryan is with Spartan Controls supporting the Reliability Team. Primetime focusing the past 9 years in the Fort McMurray Oilsands region as well conventional oil and gas and many other industry segments with over 20 years experience. He is a registered member of the CMVA, Cat II Vibration analyst, CRL (Certified Reliability Leader with AMP Asset Management Professionals) and a Journeyman Instrument Technician. Ryan and his wife along with their 5 children grew up in Edmonton Alberta and spent the last 9 years living in Fort McMurray actively involved in the community and surrounding industry segments.


Jeff Hay

Jeff Hay, PhD is the founder and CEO of RDI Technologies. He is the inventor and visionary behind Motion Amplification and the Iris M, which allows you to amplify and measure motion with the use of video. His products are moving industrial vibration to the visual spectrum. His passion is using his background in applied optical technology to change the way you see machinery and maintenance.


Parfait Hoyi

Parfait as over 6 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, working closely with manufacturers in the optimizing of their processes, and supporting them in the development of their solutions. He worked closely with clients implementing Industry 4.0 solutions, across a multitude of industries, and the implantation of predictive maintenance using vibration monitoring; and in the integration with SCADA, IoT, Cloud platforms.


Janos Pattantyus

Janos was the RDI Technologies Sales Manager for the Canada region, and now works for Hydro-Québec . He puts his bilingual passion for vibration analysis and solving machinery problems to good use, initiating, training, and supporting Canadian practitioners of asset health monitoring in Motion Amplification®. Over 10 years, Janos was a permanent machinery protection system support specialist, then a predictive maintenance specialist using portable and online systems. He trained in oil and lubricant analysis, thermography, ultrasound, root cause analysis, electric motors, and gearboxes as well. As much as he likes learning, Janos loves sharing knowledge, and as such has trained and mentored many vibration analysts along the way. Janos is a certified category IV vibration analyst with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a licensed engineer in the province of Quebec.
